Cù Bòcan
Cù Bòcan Peated Scotch Matured In Ice Wine Casks

About
Wu Dram Clan releases this 18-year-old Bowmore from 2007 in 2026: a bottling limited to just 272 bottles that distinguishes itself through balance between fruitiness and smoke. Matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel at 54.1% ABV, this expression shows what Bowmore does best—an Islay whisky that avoids extremes. The nose strikes a refined balance: grilled pineapple, light peach and candied lemon peel mingle with sea spray and brine. A grassy, fresh mint note and honeyed undertone complete the picture, with only a subtle peppery pinch. The palate becomes livelier—stone fruit dominates (peach, lime) with grilled mango slices arriving later—but gravel and flint prevent it sliding into sweetness. A coastal saltiness builds as a darker, smoky undertone develops. The finish is long and warming, with lingering fruitiness, ashy smoke and black pepper. This is no tropical showstopper, but rather a well-calibrated Islay that holds smoke and fruit in equilibrium. For those who value the subtlety of slow bourbon-barrel maturation over flashy peatiness.
