Eden Mill introduces Distiller's Cask Release #1, the first in a series of single cask single malts hand-selected by Head Distiller Scott Ferguson. This rare 8-year-old lightly peated single malt has matured in an ex-Amarone red wine cask from Northern Italy and is limited to just 311 bottles.

The whisky is crafted from 100% peated malted barley, with peat sourced from St Fergus in Aberdeenshire at a phenol level of 20 to 30 PPM. Of the casks filled at the original distillery, only around 5% contained peated spirit, and just two were filled into Amarone wine casks—making this release truly exceptional. Bottled at batch strength of 53.2% ABV, where Ferguson believes the liquid shows its best character.

On the nose, expect dried fruit, salty and briny notes with leather and tobacco, complemented by cherry. The palate reveals caramel, toffee, and smoky characters with cherry and strawberry notes, while the finish delivers a lingering conclusion of toffee, smoke, and cherry.
