Lochlea Distillery proudly unveils the second edition of its annual Red Wine Cask series: a single malt finished in carefully selected Sangiovese wine casks from Tuscany. This rich and velvety expression delivers layers of sweetness and complexity, showcasing the farm-to-cask distillery's innovative approach to cask management. The release builds on the success of last year's inaugural edition, continuing Lochlea's commitment to distinctive, limited-edition whiskies.

The whisky was initially matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels before being finished in Tuscan Sangiovese casks. Bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour and non-chill filtered, this expression captures the full character of both maturation stages. On the nose, expect red berries, baked apples, and honey with gentle spice. The palate delivers a creamy texture with abundant red berry and nutty flavours, leading to a finish defined by soft spice and pleasant oakiness.

Lochlea is one of only two Scotch distilleries to grow its own barley on-site, controlling every stage of production from field to cask. This end-to-end quality control ensures exceptional provenance and a distinctive house character.
