45 Year Old 1980 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Heritage Collection
30 Years Old
Old Pulteney marks its 200th anniversary in 2026 with two exceptional releases. This 30 Years Old is a limited edition of just 1,000 bottles, each cask personally filled by distillery manager Malcolm Waring—a tribute to his decades of stewardship at this northernmost mainland Scottish distillery. The whisky embodies the maritime soul of Wick on Scotland's far north coast, where the distillery has stood since James Henderson founded it in 1826.
Matured first in American oak casks, then finished in European oak, the whisky layers the house maritime character with the complexity that three decades in wood bestow. The dual cask approach marries the signature briny influence with ripe orchard fruit and spiced oak.
On the nose: candied almonds, sweet oak, pear, and green apple mingle with toffee, citrus, leather, and tobacco. The palate opens with fresh citrus and crisp pear, moving into salted caramel, baked apple, cinnamon, and nutmeg, all grounded by polished oak. The finish is medium to long, balancing sweetness and saline with grace.
