Sherry Cask
The Tyrconnell name traces to 1876, when R.M. Delamere entered his chestnut colt Tyrconnell in the prestigious National Produce Stakes horse race. That unlikely victory became so celebrated that the local distillery adopted the name as a tribute—a nod to a moment of improbable triumph. The brand went on to become one of Ireland's best-selling whiskeys before Prohibition.
Tyrconnell is double-distilled from 100% malted barley. This 10-year-old matures first in bourbon casks, then finishes in oloroso sherry wood—a pairing that marries the spice and floral notes typical of Irish single malt with rich, dried-fruit sweetness.
