About
Wild Turkey's name comes from a 1940s hunting trip, when an Austin Nichols executive brought bourbon to share with friends—a tradition of generosity that still defines the brand. The 12 Years is built on Wild Turkey's classic mash bill (75% corn, 13% rye, 12% barley) and matured in hand-selected barrels to full development. This bourbon delivers what a well-aged American whiskey should: caramel and vanilla form the foundation, with oak tannins emerging gradually. Spices—clove and ginger—add bite, while a hint of pear cuts through the weight. On the palate, it's denser and more assertive than the nose suggests. Butterscotch and brown sugar take the lead, joined by chocolate notes from the long maturation. The finish is warm and lingering, with that earthy, spicy Wild Turkey funk that sits comfortably within classic bourbon character.
