Kura Pure Malt hails from Helios Distillery in Okinawa, a facility founded in 1961 as a rum producer by Tadashi Matsuda and later expanded into whisky. This blended malt marries Japanese malts with a peated character, blending local heritage with modern whisky craft from one of Japan's southernmost distilleries.

Finished in rum casks, the whisky gains a subtle sweet undertone layered over its smoky foundation. At 40% ABV, it drinks accessibly without softening its edges.
