About
The Scarabus Islay Sherry Cask is a testament to the rich whisky heritage of Islay, a region renowned for its smoky and robust single malts. Crafted by the independent bottler Hunter Laing, this whisky pays homage to the mystical place of Scarabus on the island of Islay. With an ABV of 46%, it offers a balanced experience where the influence of Oloroso sherry casks adds a warm, sweet dimension to the classic smoky notes of Islay. Upon tasting, the nose reveals smouldering embers, dark berries, and roasted almonds. The palate is dominated by rich chocolate and salted caramel, harmoniously blending with waves of maritime flavors and a hint of leather. The finish is dry with a creamy texture and hints of cashew nuts and ashy smoke. This whisky pairs beautifully with a selection of aged cheeses or a rich chocolate dessert.
