About
Glendronach Portwood is a distinguished single malt whisky from the Scottish Highlands. This expression is notable for its maturation process; after aging for seven years in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is further matured for three years in port pipes from Portugal's Douro Valley. This imparts a rich and full-bodied character with a pronounced port influence. Upon tasting, this whisky reveals a complex array of aromas. It opens with the scent of summer fruits like plums and figs, transitioning into dark, jammy fruit notes on the palate, such as blackberry and fig. There are also hints of chocolate, toffee, and a subtle touch of citrus. The finish is medium in length, showcasing a pleasant malty yeastiness and a gentle warmth. It pairs wonderfully with rich chocolate desserts or a cheese board featuring mature cheeses.
