Waypoint Series – Falls of Falloch 16y
About
The Waypoint Series from Loch Lomond is Master Distiller Michael Henry's homage to the Falls of Falloch, a hidden waterfall within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. This 16-year-old single malt captures the spirit of exploration and natural beauty that inspired Henry's own journey to unlock the character of the region. Distilled in Loch Lomond's distinctive Swan Neck stills, the whisky matured for 15 years in three types of ex-bourbon American oak casks before finishing for 12 months in ex-cognac casks. This pairing brings refinement and texture without overwhelming the spirit. Bottled at 46.2% non-chill-filtered. Nose: soft citrus and honeycomb with hints of tropical fruit. Palate: silky and sweet, with honey, vanilla, and stewed apple. Finish: dry oak and dried fruit notes that fade gracefully. A whisky that balances American oak's warmth with Cognac cask sophistication, held together by natural sweetness that never tips into excess.
