About

Indri is named after the village of Indri in Haryana, where the distillery sits near the Yamuna River in the Himalayan foothills. This is India's first triple cask single malt: barley whisky matured successively in ex-bourbon, ex-French wine, and ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The result is a wine- and fortified-cask-forward spirit—rich and dessert-like, without the smoky character typical of Scottish malts. The nose reveals caramelized pineapple, vanilla, honey, and sweet cherry, with subtle black tea undertones. On the palate, full texture emerges: smooth and warm, with malty sweetness, butterscotch, and gentle spice. The finish is pleasantly sweet, with a warm glow that shows the 46% ABV is well-integrated. Indri won Best Indian Single Malt at the 2022 World Whiskies Awards and earned multiple gold medals at international competitions. This is a modern, cask-driven whisky that proves India is serious about single malt production.
