Port CaskBourbon Barrel

About

Inchmurrin takes its name from the largest island in Loch Lomond and is produced at Loch Lomond Distillery. This is an underrated whisky known for its fruit-forward character. This Decadent Drinks bottling is a multi-vintage release (2012 and 2013), initially matured in a second-fill bourbon barrel and a first-fill sherry hogshead, then married together and bottled at 53%. With only 234 bottles, this is a limited outturn. The nose reveals ripe summer fruits—mango, passion fruit, honeydew melon—alongside honeycomb sweetness and floral notes. On the palate, an oily texture captures Inchmurrin's core fruitiness: vibrant and fresh, with white pepper, brioche, and subtle grassiness. The finish is medium-length, greener notes emerge, but the fruit persists. This release echoes the character of the defunct Littlemill distillery—a notable connection for those who cherish that classic profile.
