About
Loch Lomond Distillery, founded in 1814 on the north shore of Loch Lomond, is known for its innovative approach to whisky-making. With eight distinct single malt styles, it ranks among Scotland's most versatile distilleries — a rarity that allows each expression to develop its own character. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, this 12-year-old Highland single malt has built a full, buttery sweetness. The profile balances vanilla and caramel against robust oak and pepper notes, underpinned by a malty backbone that lets the grain speak. The nose opens with dried hay and citrus, followed by vanilla and caramel. On the palate, toffee and oak emerge, punctuated by pepper that adds subtle dryness. The finish is firm and sweet — thick, dark caramel and toffee that fade slowly, supported by lingering oak tannins.
