speyside single malt scotch
single malt mature in sherry wood
BenRiach was established in 1898 by John Duff, a whisky entrepreneur who brought experience from South Africa and his travels abroad to Speyside. This 12 Year Old has been matured entirely in European oak casks from the Jerez region—a marriage of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks that deliver a rich, balanced single malt.
The pairing of these two classic sherry vessels defines the whisky's character: Oloroso provides depth and structure, while Pedro Ximénez contributes sweeter, fruit-forward notes. Nothing dominates; instead, they work in concert.
On the nose, dried fruit, citrus, and honey emerge, with hints of vanilla and red berries beneath. The palate unfolds with tropical fruit and chocolate, supported by oak structure. The finish is pleasantly dry, with persistent sherry and oak tannins that linger.
