Amrut fusion single malt (India)

fusion single malt (India)

Virgin OakBourbon Barrel

About

Amrut Fusion is not an Indian imitation of Scottish whisky — it is a deliberate marriage of two barley traditions. The spirit combines 75% locally grown Indian barley with 25% peated Scottish malt, a blend that in 2010 earned Jim Murray's Whisky Bible's accolade as 'Third Finest Whisky in the World'. That recognition marked a turning point: Amrut was no longer a curiosity but a genuine contender. Matured in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks, Fusion builds layers of fruit and spice. The nose opens with citrus and orchard fruit, backed by black pepper and cinnamon. The palate feels silky, with vanilla and toffee playing against oak tannin and subtle smoke. The finish stays dry and textured. This is whisky that shifts the genre's geographical boundaries — not by imitating Scotland, but by embracing India's climate and grain heritage and marrying it to Scottish craft.
