This 18-year-old Highland single malt was distilled in 2007 and bottled exclusively by Finn Thomson for Aberdeen Whisky Shop. The label draws inspiration from the old red sandstone geology beneath Fettercairn Distillery, formed over 400 million years ago—a nod to the deep geological heritage underlying this innovative producer. After 18 years maturing in American oak casks, the whisky receives a finishing period in Torres red wine casks, introducing layers of ripe fruit, gentle spice, and rich depth. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, it retains its full character and texture. The colour is deep golden amber with hints of chestnut brown. The nose reveals ripe tropical fruits, sugared almonds, and baking spices. On the palate, these fruit notes blend with softer, elegant oak tones, while the red wine finish leaves a pleasant impression of dried fruit and old wood.
