About
Peat's Beast was born in 2011 from a collaboration between Eamonn Jones (former regional director of Whyte & Mackay) and Gerald Erdrich, alongside artist Dough Alves. It is a single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery—not Islay, despite what the name suggests. Bottled at 46% ABV, the whisky is known for its intense peated character. The nose reveals smoky peat with sweet malt, vanilla, and honey, complemented by citrus and iodine notes. On the palate, peat takes centre stage with ashy and medicinal qualities, balanced by softer fruit and a hint of spice. The finish is smoky and lingering. Peat's Beast appeals to peated Scotch enthusiasts seeking an alternative to classic Islay distilleries. The interplay of intense peat with subtle sweetness makes it a versatile dram for both contemplation and pairing.

Spicy peated whisky. Definitely worth purchasing.
