Whipper Snapper was founded in 2014 by brothers-in-law Alasdair Malloch and James McKeown, sparked by a single question: why wasn't there an Australian whisky? What began as an idea in a Perth backyard grew into a full-fledged distillery in Western Australia. This single malt is crafted from 100% locally grown barley from the Wheatbelt region of Narrogin, custom-malted to their specification. Matured in wood with a lighter hand than many of their other expressions, the whisky displays clean, well-integrated character—a testament to their careful distillation and cask selection. On the nose, floral caramel, stewed pears, and green apple emerge alongside warm spice. The palate is creamy yet lively, with a lingering finish that keeps the warmth and subtle spice alive. A contemporary Australian single malt designed for any season and best shared.
