The Macallan M is the result of a unique collaboration between The Macallan, crystal maker Lalique, and designer Fabien Baron. This exclusive bottling embodies The Macallan's six pillars: natural colour, mastery, curiously small spirit stills, the estate, exceptional oak casks, and sherry wine. The whisky has matured in a carefully selected number of American and European oak sherry casks. The nose reveals dried fruits that unfold with vanilla and green apple, neither taking the lead. On the palate, a silky-smooth opening of pear drops and caramelised banana develops into refreshing sorbet-like notes, followed by malt and spiced oak. The finish is long and smooth, with toasted oak lingering. This rare expression is known for its intense sweet sultana character and rich, velvety mouthfeel. It combines subtlety with complexity, where coffee and chocolate notes mingle with orange peel, creating a whisky of considerable depth and refinement.
