About
The Auld Alliance is an independent bottling from the eponymous whisky bar in Singapore, founded in 2010 by Emmanuel Dron. The name draws from the historic 1295 alliance between France and Scotland — a fitting choice for Dron to link his French heritage with Scotch whisky tradition. This 17-year-old Lowland grain whisky, bottled at 56.10% ABV, displays the characteristic lightness and refinement of a grain spirit that has matured thoughtfully in refill casks. As a Lowland grain, it offers an accessible foundation with subtle wood influence. The higher ABV provides structure and presence without overwhelming the spirit — typical of a well-aged grain that has had time to shed its rough edges and develop complexity. On the palate, soft fruit notes emerge alongside hints of honey and malt, supported by understated wood character. The finish is warm and measured, with a pleasant dryness that invites another sip.
