About

Aberfeldy was founded in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons and officially opened in 1898 on the banks of the River Tay in Perthshire. This 40-year-old single malt represents a rare milestone for the distillery — a whisky that has spent four decades in cask, with time and wood leaving their mark. This aged expression showcases the honeyed sweetness Aberfeldy is known for, now enriched by the complexity that only extended maturation can deliver. It drinks fuller than younger releases from the same distillery, with an oily, waxy texture that spreads across the palate. The nose brings forward honeyed notes, complemented by subtle fruity and floral touches. On the palate, malt and oak emerge alongside grassy and peppery wood notes that reflect the long maturation. The finish is slow and elegant, with lingering honey and a pleasant warmth.
