Shelterpoint Evans Family Reserve

Evans Family Reserve

Bourbon CaskFinish: Oloroso Cask
Toegevoegd door Bert Wolters

About

Shelter Point Distillery, founded in 2011 by third-generation farmer Patrick Evans on Vancouver Island, quickly established itself as a champion of Canadian whisky. The Evans Family Reserve honours those roots: young barley spirit, first matured in bourbon casks, then finished in oloroso casks that add richness and depth. The nose reveals roasted peach, strawberry jam, and vanilla custard—a blend of fruit and sweetness that draws you in immediately. On the palate comes honey over soft fruits, buttery and smooth, with a whisper of clove and the warm undertone of mulled wine. The finish is clean and lingering, with caramel sweetness and a hint of chocolate. This is no attempt to be Scotch, but a young, ambitious Canadian statement: fruit and honey, without pretence.
