Deanston Teq

About

Deanston Distillery occupies a building with an unusual past: until 1965, a cotton mill stood on this site in Doune, designed in 1785 by Sir Richard Arkwright. That industrial heritage—the River Teith's water power, the solid stone structure—still shapes the character of the whiskies made here. The Teq is a blended Scotch whisky from this distinctive location. Deanston has built a reputation for unconventional cask choices: tequila, wine, and other finishes that give the base spirit an unexpected turn. The distillery embraces experimentation, producing whiskies that resist easy categorization. Without specific tasting notes for this exact bottling, we can expect the Teq to carry Deanston's hallmark signature: a full, grain-driven base with hints of vanilla and toffee, likely sharpened by oak influence. This is whisky for those unafraid of something different.
