Starkenberg is located at Schloss Starkenberg in Tyrol, a castle with deep roots in Austria's alpine heritage. This 10-year-old single malt matures in specially toasted oak casks, which gives it its golden hue. It is an honest, clean young malt that lives up to its name — no frills, just solid craftsmanship from the mountains. The nose offers mainly sweetness with just a hint of pepper. On the palate it drinks very well and goes down easily: soft, very light, and pleasant. This is not a bombastic whisky, but a friendly, approachable drinker that subtly expresses its Tyrolean character.
