About
Glenkinchie was founded in 1825 by brothers John and George Rate on land once owned by the De Quincy family — their name survives, corrupted, in 'Kinchie', which remains part of the distillery's identity to this day. Originally called Milton Distillery, it took its current name upon licensing. It is the sole distillery in the Lowlands still producing single malt, a rarity in a region historically dominated by blended whisky. This 11-year-old Lowland single malt is light-bodied and delicate. The nose reveals fresh flowers, grass, and subtle fruit — green apple and pear — with hints of vanilla and honey. On the palate, a sweet, gently creamy texture unfolds, followed by citrus notes and a whisper of cereal grain. The finish is soft and floral, with gentle peppery oak and a lingering, clean conclusion. Glenkinchie is a whisky that rewards attention rather than commands it — suited to those seeking an accessible entry into single malt, or those who naturally prefer refinement over intensity.

A robust Lowlander at cask strength, yet subtle and complex at the same time! A beautiful glass to enjoy, and I've made a review of it too ?is=UH-VjjOEMfVjr0TJ
