Kilchoman
Calvados Single Cask Finish

About
Machir Bay takes its name from the dramatic beach on Islay's west coast, where the ruins of an ancient church still stand. Kilchoman, founded in 2005 by Anthony and Kathy Wills, is the island's only family-owned distillery. This flagship expression is a vatting of approximately 90% ex-bourbon casks with oloroso sherry cask influence, bottled without chill filtration. The whisky blends different ages between 3 and 5 years old. The nose reveals citrus zests, crumbly vanilla biscuits, and layers of elegant peat smoke. On the palate, a generous burst of tropical fruit emerges, with subtle apple notes and a hint of black pepper at the sides of the tongue. The finish is long and sweet, with smoky notes mingling with vanilla and toffee. Machir Bay is a balanced, approachable peated whisky that respects Islay's character without overwhelming it. This is a dram for those who value refinement over intensity.
