About

Monsieur Balthazar was founded in 2000 by former actor Olivier Perrier with a deliberate mission: to make French whisky that surprises. This Single Cask Tronçais is the embodiment of that vision. A blend of 45% corn, 45% barley malt, and 10% rye, matured in fresh casks hewn from Tronçais oak—sourced from the forest of the same name, close to the distillery itself. No Scottish peat formula here, but a distinctly French take on whisky-making. The young, unpeated spirit draws its character entirely from new oak. The nose offers vanilla, cinnamon, and cereal notes. On the palate, buttery biscuits and corn give way to toasted almonds, honey, and a gentle orange note. The finish is clean and woody, without the tobacco and leather that often mark older whiskies. This is whisky without pretension to age—youthful, but not harsh. For those curious about what lies beyond Scotland and Ireland.
