About
North British is a grain whisky distillery founded in Edinburgh in 1885 by a consortium of blenders seeking an independent source of grain spirit. For over 120 years, it has produced vast quantities of grain whisky—originally 1.25 million litres weekly—primarily for blending into Scotch whiskies. This 17-year-old expression offers a rare window into what North British can deliver as a single grain, beyond its traditional role in blends. Matured in sherry casks, it develops a full body and rich texture. The nose shows toffee and grassy notes with hints of spice. The palate unfolds with sweetness and vanilla, building through citrus and subtle herbal layers, finishing with gentle tannins that provide structure and length.
