About
The Glenrothes, founded in 1878 by James Stewart, has built a reputation for refined single malt craftsmanship. This 14-year-old expression matured in sherry hogsheads and first fill casks delivers a full-bodied whisky with pronounced wood influence and dried fruit character. The nose opens with raisins, dried stone fruits, and warming spices — ginger and subtle tobacco notes. On the palate, it's round and juicy, with nuttiness, soft fruit, and a spicy backbone that builds toward the finish. The wood comes through clearly, bringing old oak and a lingering warmth. This is a cask-strength Speyside that doesn't shy away from its maturation — the sherry and first fill casks have left their mark without overwhelming the underlying malt character.
