About

Loch Lomond Distillery Edition Nine is a rare bottling drawn from spirit fermented for 2–3 weeks during the distillery's summer shutdown, using M and MX yeasts. Only three barrels were hand-selected for this release, making it a focused and deliberate expression. It embodies Loch Lomond's signature house style: fruit-forward, honeyed, with restrained smoke. The nose reveals the extended fermentation's influence — tropical fruit, citrus, and soft peaty hints. On the palate, it's bright and fresh, with apple, pear, and a whisper of coconut cream that rounds the finish cleanly. The spirit shows good weight and presence without harshness. At 57.5% ABV and nine years old, this single malt demonstrates the distillery's distinctive approach to fermentation and distillation. It's not a generic Highland expression, but a specific statement of craft — the kind of bottling that rewards close attention and reveals why Loch Lomond has earned its reputation as a rising star in Scottish single malt.
