Sturm was born from a partnership between Cley Distillery and Kiwanis Zierikzee Schouwen-Duiveland, a service club dedicated to child welfare. €20 from each bottle goes to Sophia Children's Hospital for research into congenital heart disease. This is more than a whisky—it's a direct investment in the health of children. The whisky was crafted from 100% malted barley sourced from The Swaen maltster in Kloosterzande, triple-distilled in a copper pot still following old Dutch tradition. After three years of maturation in ex-bourbon casks, it undergoes a second maturation in small virgin American oak casks. Bottled at cask strength (48%) for maximum intensity—500 numbered bottles of 500ml each, presented in luxury gift packaging. The nose reveals oak, vanilla, and dried fruit. The palate is full and creamy with citrus and toffee notes. A forceful, unadulterated expression that showcases the craftsmanship of this young Dutch distillery.
