About
Amsterdam is known for jenever and liqueurs, but the Dutch whisky tradition runs far deeper. Lucas Bols, founded in 1575, was among Europe's earliest distilleries, and according to whisky historians Arthur Motley and Dave Broom, Dutch distillers played a crucial role in shaping Scotch whisky as we know it. This Batch 2 is a modern Dutch single malt in the Speyside style, bottled at cask strength (55.7%) without dilution. The nose reveals ripe stone fruits — figs, prunes, sultanas — with subtle tobacco and cedar notes. The palate deepens and darkens, showing mulchy fruit, mocha, and walnut oil. The finish is medium-length, with lingering vanilla and light spices that gradually fade to a gentle warmth.
