In 1953, founders Margie and Bill Samuels Sr. broke with tradition by burning their 170-year-old family recipe. What emerged was a bourbon built on red winter wheat instead of rye—softer, sweeter, and rooted in a different philosophy than its rivals. This 250th Anniversary edition dresses that same recipe in patriotic colors for the first time: the iconic hand-dipped red wax seal is joined by a white layer and blue logo. The liquid stays faithful to the original. Nose brings sweet oak, vanilla, and bright fruit—cherry and apple with brown sugar and gentle spice. The palate is rich and velvety, layered with caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and subtle baking spices. The finish is relatively short, sweetness tapering into soft, dry oak spice. This release supports the Farmer Veteran Coalition, which has helped over 58,000 veterans transition into agriculture careers over 17 years.
