About

Aerstone Land Cask is a 10-year-old single malt from the Scottish Lowlands, released in 2018 by William Grant & Sons as part of a paired exploration of how landscape shapes flavour. While its sibling Sea Cask remains unpeated, Land Cask uses peat-dried malt — a choice that grounds its identity in place. Matured inland for a decade, the whisky develops a light gold-amber hue and a nose of campfire smoke and white pepper, layered with honey and vanilla beneath. On the palate, lightly peated malt emerges with heathery peat, honey, and caramel. Mint and anise add complexity, while toast and burnt sugar provide structure. The finish is dry and smoky, with lingering smoke that fades cleanly. This expression claimed gold at the 2022 International Spirits Challenge in the Single Malts up to 12 Years category — recognition of its balance between approachability and character.
