Turas Math means 'begin the journey' — and this inaugural release from The Westering Home Collection marks exactly that. Inspired by the Islay anthem 'Westering Home', the series celebrates the spirit of exploration and coastal homecoming. This is Bunnahabhain's unpeated Islay character without the smoke, but with layered cask storytelling: 15 years in ex-Manzanilla sherry casks married with spirit that spent its first 10 years in refill wood before a 5-year Amarone finish. The blend works with quiet sophistication. Manzanilla brings dry, briny edges; Amarone contributes red-fruit softness and fuller body. Bottled at 55.9% ABV, naturally non-chill-filtered, it retains its full complexity without dilution. On the nose: soft and creamy, with a light, approachable entry. The palate balances coastal minerality and dried fruit against gentle spice. A whisky that drinks dangerously easy despite its proof — no flash, but enough depth to reward attention.
