Longrow is Springbank's heavily peated expression, named after a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood beside it in the 19th century. Introduced in 1973 as a robust, double-distilled peated component for blending, it has since become a standalone release that retains its original character: oily, smoky, and uncompromising. This 13-year-old bottling layers that signature peat with the complexity of cask maturation. The nose reveals sweet smoke with a mineral edge—slate and basalt notes—alongside hints of tobacco and motor oil beneath. On the palate, salt and iron strike first, followed by toffee and chocolate sweetness that plays against the smoky foundation. The finish is substantial and sooty, with oak spice and grassy touches that linger, gradually fading to ash and char.
