Tamnavulin means 'mill on the hill' in Gaelic, named after the historic water mill whose wheel still stands preserved today. Founded in 1966, this Speyside distillery created the Oloroso Cask Edition exclusively for global travellers, marrying the spiced, fruity character of Oloroso sherry with their signature Speyside single malt. The whisky matures in American oak before finishing in Oloroso casks, developing a deep amber hue and rich sherry influence. On the nose, Christmas cake aromas emerge—candied fruits, marzipan, and gingersnaps—complemented by raspberry jam. The palate reveals pastry notes, honey, and cinnamon, with citrus and almond accents. The finish is soft and lingering, with red fruit and gentle spice.
