BRUGES WHISKY
Final Inaugural Release

About
Quinta Ruban takes its name from the Portuguese origin of port wine—both the grape source and the whisky's distinctive ruby hue. Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Director of Whisky Creation, crafted this expression as an adventurous exploration of port finishing. The shift from 12 to 14 years old was driven by market research aimed at deepening the flavour profile. The whisky matures for ten years in bourbon casks, followed by four years in ruby port pipes from Portugal. This pairing builds on Glenmorangie's signature soft, fruity character—distilled in their famously tall stills—and adds richness and complexity through the port-cask finish. On the nose, floral notes mingle with citrus, underpinned by chocolate, toffee, and dried fruit. The palate opens with candy-like sweetness and vanilla, developing into orange and toasted oak. The finish is round and oily, with gentle warmth and lingering port-wine sweetness.
