About

Distilled in Edinburgh on 6 October 1998—the day Scotland faced Brazil at the World Cup in France—this 27-year-old single grain has waited as long as the Tartan Army itself. Bottled by Finn Thomson as a tribute to Scottish football fans who endured 28 years before their nation returned to the tournament, this is not merely whisky; it is history. Drawn from cask #701157 and bottled at cask strength (50.8% ABV), only 220 bottles exist. Single grain whisky is typically lighter and cleaner than single malt, but extended maturation in an ex-bourbon cask has built a full, golden character marked by natural sweetness and buttery texture—the signature of aged grain whisky. The nose reveals almond and meaty notes. On the palate, vanilla and honey emerge, with hazelnut, dried spices, and a savoury finish. A dram that rewards patience: 27 years in wood, and just as long the fans waited.
