The Teuchter Batch 2 is a 10-year-old Clynelish distilled shortly before the distillery closed for major renovation and modernization work. Bottled by Decadent Drinks from a refill cask, this Highland single malt displays all the characteristic traits of Clynelish: a pleasing waxy texture paired with delicate mineral notes. The nose reveals fresh soda bread, white peaches, and gentle cereal notes beneath a subtle citrus veil. On the palate, tangerines and Acacia honey emerge with a pinch of white pepper, followed by lemon and grapefruit with an almost tropical character. The finish is medium-length and decidedly fruity: melon, more citrus, and Granny Smith apple with a light chalky edge and elegant floral notes. This is a whisky designed for conviviality—affordable enough to pour without hesitation, yet with an uncompromising quality that rewards attention.
