About

Scout Drinks, the Taiwanese independent bottler, released this Ardmore in its second batch – a distillery that reviewer Thijs Klaverstijn notes 'almost never disappoints'. This is a single cask bottling of 15-year-old spirit, distilled in 2010 and bottled in January 2026 at cask strength (60.3%). Ardmore is known for traditionally peated single malt from the Highlands, a style less commonly expected outside Islay. This cask strength expression retains the full character of the distillery without dilution – peat, smoke and citrus form the backbone. In the glass, a full-bodied, spicy dram emerges. Vanilla and cream on the nose, with undertones of tobacco and mild peatiness. The palate delivers an oily texture with hints of plaster and honey, followed by a long, peppery finish. This is Ardmore as it should be – unpolished, but honest and purposeful.
