Glen Scotia, rooted in Campbeltown's maritime whisky heritage, crafted this 7-year limited edition by maturing the spirit in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before finishing in Bordeaux red wine casks. The combination bridges the distillery's characteristic sea-salt minerality with the rich fruit complexity of fine wine wood. The nose carries strawberry and red berry notes alongside the honey sweetness from bourbon maturation, underpinned by a subtle salinity. These elements feel integrated rather than layered, creating a cohesive aromatic profile that reflects both the spirit's origins and its wine cask finishing. On the palate, red fruit and honey lead, with a maritime edge that prevents the whisky from becoming overly sweet. The finish is warm and lingering, with dark fruit and a whisper of smoke fading gradually. At 58.4% ABV, the cask strength adds weight and texture without overwhelming the delicate balance.
