The foundation of this Speyside single malt was matured in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to hand-selected Pedro Ximénez sherry butts for finishing. The palate reveals a rich, balanced character with vanilla, cedar, and oak tones that blend with the natural fruitiness imparted by the sherry. This is no subtle finish—the PX casks make their presence known, delivering stewed figs and gentle sweetness tempered by oak. The finish is smooth and lingering, without the harsh edges some sherry finishes can carry. This is an accessible entry point to sherry-finished whisky, at a fraction of the price of many premium alternatives.
