About
Edradour is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, owned since 2003 by Andrew Symington of Signatory Vintage — the realisation of his lifelong ambition to own his own distillery. The name means 'between two rivers', reflecting its Highland setting. This 9-year-old from 2013 was matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled at cask strength (58.9% ABV) without chill-filtration or colouring. The cask strength presentation emphasises the full, oily mouthfeel that defines Edradour — a whisky that commands attention through character rather than subtlety. On the nose and palate: dry fruit, raspberry, bitter wood, pepper and milk chocolate emerge. The alcohol is present but not harsh; a touch of water reveals additional layers. This is a dram for those who embrace strength and complexity without apology.
