Bourbon Barrel

About

Lagmore is a captivating Speyside blended malt, predominantly crafted from Ballindalloch spirit with a subtle addition of Mannochmore. This ten-year-old expression, matured in first-fill bourbon cask, displays remarkable maturity and depth for its age. The whisky exhibits a robust, fruity character balanced by delicate floral notes and pronounced spice. The nose opens with citrus-forward aromatics—lemon verbena and quince jelly—followed by generous spice, particularly cloves. Gentle floral and leafy notes emerge alongside plums, gooseberries, and waxy undertones. The palate offers excellent texture with moderate oiliness, leading with spice and clove, accompanied by barley husks, roasted peanut skins, and a whisper of white chocolate. Grapes, grainy pears, and ripe apples provide fruity support. The medium-length finish lingers with pepper, sugary sweetness, and delicate orchard fruits. This is a characterful dram for those who appreciate austere, spice-driven Speysides with evident potential for further evolution.
