Despite just five years of maturation, this whisky displays remarkable intensity, with dominant smoke and peat notes that define this legendary distillery's identity. The interplay of sherry and bourbon cask maturation adds subtle sweetness beneath the robust, smoky core. The nose is vibrant and punchy, dominated by intense peat with wood smoke, fresh lemon citrus, and a briny, coastal character. The palate reveals an intriguing transformation: initially creamy and sweet with vanilla ice cream notes, it quickly shifts to ashy, spicy and medicinal flavours with hints of liquorice and ginger.
