Goalong STR Wine Cask is an award-winning Chinese single malt whisky from Hunan Province, crafted by a distillery that blends traditional copper pot distillation with contemporary techniques. This expression is matured in specially prepared STR casks (shaved, toasted, and re-charred), which impart distinctive wine-influenced character and depth. The region's warm, humid subtropical climate accelerates maturation, allowing the whisky to develop rich colour and complex flavours more rapidly than cooler-climate counterparts. The nose reveals red berries, vanilla, and toasted oak with subtle tannins and a faint herbal edge. The palate delivers a full-bodied experience of dark fruits, wine-soaked wood, caramel, and cinnamon toast, with citrus brightness and warming spice. The finish is long and lingering, with persistent fruit and spice notes that fade gracefully.
