Holyrood's 4-year-old single malt is a bold young expression from the Lowlands, matured in Oloroso casks that have imparted rich sherry character despite the brief aging period. The high alcohol strength (62.2%) and concentrated flavour profile showcase the intensity of ex-sherry maturation, creating a dynamic and assertive dram that blends the region's characteristic fruity and malty foundation with warming, sweet notes. The nose reveals hazelnut complexity intertwined with crisp apple, white wine, and fruity undertones. The palate opens with malty and fruity notes touched by light spice, soft vanilla, and honey, supported by a medium-light body. The finish is medium-length with burnt biscuit, dark tea, pepper, and a savoury edge that emphasises this whisky's youthful vigour and the bold influence of its Oloroso maturation.
