Wire Works Caduro X is a limited-edition single malt English whisky from White Peak Distillery, released to celebrate the distillery's 10-year milestone. This expression marries first-fill ex-bourbon barrels with signature STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-red wine casks. The spirit blends regular and alternate distillation cuts, creating a brighter, tropical fruit-forward character with subtle peat influence. The result is a whisky of rich, sweet and spicy complexity, layered with orchard and tropical fruits, toffee, chocolate and gentle smoke. On the nose, expect indulgent banoffee pie, egg custard tarts, mint sweets and wine gums, followed by baked apple, strawberry notes and orange zest with a whisper of peat. The palate delivers cinnamon rolls, butter icing and pineapple, complemented by milk chocolate, yoghurt-coated cranberries and marmalade with warming spice. The finish is soft and honeyed, with cinder toffee, candied ginger and cinnamon notes, fading into gentle wood smoke and lingering sweetness.
