This Glenburgie 2008 GM is a robust Speyside single malt, bottled by the respected independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. Aged in a refill bourbon barrel and bottled at cask strength (58.9% ABV), this whisky delivers a full-bodied and complex expression that captures the distillery's character beautifully. The nose reveals rich sherry-influenced notes with hazelnut and raisin undertones, complemented by subtle smoke and bacon-like characteristics with a hint of sulphur. On the palate, creamy and fudgy textures emerge alongside toffee, dark berries, and dates. The finish is long and fruity, with black pepper and chocolate notes lingering pleasantly on the finish.
